Texas A&M picked up a coveted commitment in its 2023 class on Wednesday when tight end Theodor Ohrstrom announced his pledge to the Aggies live on CBS Sports HQ. Ohrstrom picked Texas A&M over LSU, Ohio State and Alabama. Ohrstrom ranks as the No. 180 prospect in the 2023 class and No. 14 tight end, according to the 247Sports Composite.

It's no surprise that the 6-foot-6 athlete is the top prospect from Sweden in this class, but he won't be the first European to land a big-time scholarship in recent years. As part of the PPI Recruits pipeline, he is among dozens of international prospects from across the continent to land offers in recent years.

"I just felt like the relationships I had created with the staff there, and coach (James) Coley and Coach (Jimbo) Fisher have been amazing," Ohrstrom said. "I like the way they use their tight ends."

As a relative newcomer to the sport, Ohrstrom appears to have plenty of upside after finding a team at RIG Academy School in Sweden and attracting attention from American college programs.

The Aggies have proven their commitment to tight ends in recent seasons. Jace Sternberger hauled in 10 touchdown catches and amassed 48 total receptions in 2018 before Jalen Wydermyer took over lead tight end duties with 78 receptions and 12 touchdowns over the past two seasons. Wydermyer is regarded as one of the top tight ends in the country entering the 2021 season.
