Georgia's strong start to the 2022 recruiting cycle continued on Thursday, when the Bulldogs landed a commitment from four-star running back Branson Robinson, who announced his pledge to UGA live on CBS Sports HQ. The SEC East power beat out a strong list of competitors for Robinson, which included Alabama, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Clemson and LSU.

Robinson is considered the No. 1 player in Mississippi from this class and is regarded as the No. 46 overall player and No. 4 running back by the 247Sports Composite. The 5-foot-10, 220-pound back is UGA's 11th commitment with a four-star ranking or better for the Bulldogs in the cycle out of the 12 who have committed to Georgia. The only three-star prospect in the class for UGA is punter Brett Thorson, who is nonetheless considered the top punter in the class.

In 2020, Robinson rushed for 1,179 yards and 15 touchdowns at Germantown High School. He is Georgia's second running back commitment of the class, joining fellow four-star prospect Jordan James. In his scouting report of Robinson, 247Sports recruiting insider Clint Brewster wrote:

Rocked up, thick framed running back with NFL muscle and strength as a high schooler. Bruising runner with great steam between the tackles and churns out yards after contact. Consistently grinds out short to intermediate runs. Shows efficient movements as far as jump cuts and cut-back ability. Big time production and is built to carry the load. Shows some good explosive twitch and recorded elite level broad jump and vertical jumps on the camp circuit. Doesn't appear to have great straight-line speed to run away from defenders at this stage.
