What to Know

Two dominant signal callers in Kaidon Salter and Austin Reed are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Liberty Flames and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will face off in a Conference USA battle at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. Liberty is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Liberty's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Middle Tennessee by a score of 42-35.

Liberty can attribute much of their success to Quinton Cooley, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and Salter, who rushed for 160 yards while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Cooley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Western Kentucky last Tuesday, but the final result did not. They fell just short of Jacksonville State by a score of 20-17.

Despite the loss, Western Kentucky got a solid performance out of Reed, who threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

Liberty's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0. As for Western Kentucky, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

While only Western Kentucky took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. As for their next game, Liberty is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by five points. This contest will be their eighth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 5-2 against the spread).
